Gaucho Antonio Antonioli, 24 years, practicing the DeRose Method, was European champion in Jiu Jitsu in Lisbon, Portugal.
The event, which took place on 30 and 31 January, attended by 1,500 athletes from around the world. In Super Heavy (up to 100 pounds), Antonioli was champion, winning the semi final and one Italian player in the grand final in French Maxime Fontaine.
He, who has a degree in industrial engineering, gave up the profession to devote himself fully to the sport.
“I’m very happy to bring this title to our state, with this achievement Jiu Jitsu gaucho gains even more prominence on the world stage.”
In March Antonioli will play a qualifier for the Abu Dhabi Pro in Gramado, which categorizes the champions for the Professional World Cup in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. And in April, goes to the Pan American Championships in the United States.
The athlete has the support of the FG, DeRose Method, Restaurant Sharin, SG Own System, Top Fitness, CAF Therapy. However, the athlete goes on without sponsor.
